organized a
computer programming contest “Think n Program” at Uttaranchal Press Club. The contest aimed to provide the
platform to the students where they can test their programming skills before
stepping to the industry. The contest was conducted to nurture aspirations
to realize individual
potential and growth and facilitate continuous learning. 256 participants from
21 different colleges of Uttarakhand
and Uttar Pradesh participated
in the three round contest organised by shikshaarthi.com on 14th Sept
2008 at Uttaranchal Press Club, Dehradun. The participating institutes

The contest held in three
rounds: Objective round, Programming round &
FinalProgramming
round. Out of 256 candidates, 36 candidates
entered second round and 5 reached the final round. Finalists of the contest were Ankur Sharma, Deep Mehrotra, Gaurav
Khurana, Lomesh Vohra & Nikhil Kumar Gupta. Gaurav Khurana won the contest by securing maximum points in the final
round. Gaurav was awarded by the winner trophy, certificate of appreciation and
cheque of Rs. 5,000.00 by Anil Mohan, CEO, Sarmang Software.
There was an open interactive counseling
session between participants and a panel of experts from various reputed
IT companies. The panel of experts includes Mr. Rajendra Singh Rajput ,
Mr. Pankaj
Srivastava, Mr. Kunwar Pal Singh Rawat
and Mr. Jitendra
Singh Dev. During the counseling session experts
solved participants queries regarding future in IT
industry, Scope of 3D graphic animation, scope of various technologies &
computer languages, Indian hardware and software industry and many more. Pankaj
Srivastava motivated the participants to become entrepreneurs. Kunwar Pal Singh
Rawat focused on positive attitude towards work, while Rajendra Singh
focused on good commands on the basics of computer science & computer language
for success in IT industry. While answering to one of the questions about 'What
is required to start our own company', 'Strong desire with positive attitude
and determination are the basic necessity for new startups' said Anil Mohan. The experts
guided the participants to achieve the best career opportunities to realize their
dreams and succeed globally.
Sarmang Software
announced best trainee award for year 2007-2008. Hemant Kashniyal won the
best trainee award with gold medal for Technical Skills and Ankita Khanka
won the best trainee award with gold medal for Dedication and Determination
towards work and company.
The contest was organised by Trainees of Sarmang Software under the guidance
and supervision of
Mr. Ashish Muyal. shikshaarthi.com will continue to conduct such contest through an environment of
excellence and growth with optimal utilization of resources said Raahul
Gupta, team member of the organizing committee.
'Further the contest is planned to be conducted on institutional, zonal and state level, to make it more competitive and beneficial for the participants' told Meenu Rawat of Sarmang Software. During her discussion with media Komal Gupta, Software Engineer of Sarmang Software told about Sarmangs initiatives for use of internet technology in teaching and learning process. She also told that the company is launching an internet based learning tool in October 2008.
